In order to play this riff correctly and with emphasis you must follow the three key points.
- Right Hand: Use thumb and fingers articulation without jumping on the strings. You hand should be steady with the fingers being the only thing moving (that’s hard!!). Also, when you play the top string (2nd string B), you must let this note Ring on, creating the right ambient to support the Melody (played on the Bass Notes)
- Left Hand: Don’t rush the notes. It will sounds Choppy and Staccato (cut off). Keep the Thumb Straight down behind the Neck. Practice Slow, then, Speed Up.
This is a quite Challenging fingerstyle guitar lesson guys. But is also the one song that everybody want to hear. Once you have it in your Repertoire, you will find yourself playing it all the time. This is the Video Tutorial. At the beginning of the Video I made a mistake by crediting the piece to Joaquin Rodrigo … that made me lough (and swear) … Enjoy this amazing song by Isaac Albeniz.
