Double Stops Guitar Technique – FINGERSTYLE GUITAR LESSONS

The Double Stops is an amazing Technique. Probably my favorite!! In this Technique you will be playing two notes at the same time. Usually played on two adjacent strings this technique has been used in many different ways and also Styles. Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan as well as Paul Jackson Jr, Nail Rodgers and Prince have made the double stops their Style Signature.

Let me show you a practical example of Double Stops!!

Double Stops on a Blues Progression!

As you can see this technique is quite easy and straightforward. In the example above, I have applied the double stops on a 12 bars blues. This is a simple, yet effective way to play a Blues accompaniment. In this form the double stops are quite simple but, as you will see, this technique can reach a quite difficult level.
