Intro
In this first video I am going to teach you the first four bars. Here you will learn two percussive techniques: The Body and the Percussive Thumb.
The Body technique is achieved by hitting the bridge with the palm. Make sure you practice that separately for a couple of minutes. Find the right spot where it sounds good for you.
The Percussive Thumb is a technique in which the thumb slap the strings lightly. Relax the thumb and hit the strings right next to the bridge. Quickly release the thumb so that the chord keeps ringing out. This technique is also called Tambora.
The first two chords we are going to check out today are the F5 and Bb5 power chord. The power chord is one of the simplest chord on guitar and is achieved by playing the 1st 5th and 8th degree of the chord. Check out the diagram on the side to learn the two positions.
