Spanish Romance is one of the most popular Classical Pieces for Guitar. I remember when I was a kid, my father use to play the melody on one string. I starter taking Classical Guitar Lessons when I was about 10 years old and by 13y.o I started learning this Piece. Shame nobody knows who wrote it !!!
Couple of things you want to know before cracking on this piece.
- Right Hand: The Right hand follows always the same Plucking Pattern based on three triplets each bar. The first triplet will have Thumb and Ring finger at the same time while the other two triplets will only pluck the top string.
- Left Hand: You might want to take this piece step by step. You probably not gonna like it but, unfortunately, this piece is full of bar chords. The first part in E minor is kind of doable for an Intermediate. The second part in E major, has much more bar chords on different positions.(that’s the reason why lot’s of Guitar Players only learn the first part).
