The strumming is a guitar technique that allows you to brush the strings with either a guitar pick or a finger. This technique is very simple and perfect for beginners

There are only two strumming movements: The upstroke and downstroke. In this video, I am going to show you how to play a bunch of chord progressions using different strumming patterns.

I will be strumming the strings with my index finger. As a fingerstyle player, I don’t usually use the guitar pick. For this reason, I am more comfortable switching between fingerstyle and strumming by only using my fingers.

If you prefer to strum the strings with a guitar pick, go ahead and use it. Both the guitar pick and the finger are great for strumming.
