The Melody

Part 1

We can break the melody down into two sections.

The first part of the melody played with interval scales in 6th follow the E major scale on the first E string, and it’s harmonized with the 6th on the third G string.

Interval scales are a powerful tool that can emphasize the melody and make it stronger and more mellow.

The strings will be pluck simultaneously with index (i) and ring finger (a).

Guitar Tip: Start practicing the interval scale melody without the bass note.

  • The red color represents the fingerstyle guitar melody played with an interval scale in 6th.
  • The yellow color is a single note melody played with alternate fingering.

Part 2

The second part of this fingerstyle melody challenge is pretty similar and easy to play.

The melody will start again with the same melody, and it will end differently over an E major chord.

The red square represents the most difficult chord in this fingerstyle melody. This C# minor chord is quite stretchy and difficult to pluck. The stretch between the little finger and index finger is pretty wide so take it to step by step.
