Chords that Sing an Emotional Beautiful Melody!
Only Possible in E major
Amazing things happen when we play in the key of E major. Don’t ask me why but I have the felling everything in E major sounds amazing, emotional and beautiful.
You don’t believe me? Wait until I show you these amazing chords that sing an emotional beautiful melody.
If you have been playing guitar for a while you know that there is a big difference between chords and melody. A chord is a bunch on notes played together, a melody is a sequence of single notes that is musically satisfying.
In this lesson though I am going to show you how you can make your chords sing an emotional beautiful melody.
This is possible for two reasons:
- The chords we are playing only have two notes. The root note and the major or minor 3rd. These type of chords are among the most amazing and beautiful sounding chords I know because they sound super melodic.
- We are playing in E major key, which gives you unique melodic possibilities. One of the amazing thing about playing in E major is that we can add open strings such as the E and B string to each chord we play to add more color to the chord. Only possible in E major guys.
In this fingerstyle guitar lesson you will learn four beautiful melody that will inspire you!
I hope you enjoy this lesson guys. I ha a ton of fun recording it!
Let’s get started.
The Video
The Chord Shape
The unique thing about this guitar lesson is that you will be learning only two simple chord shape that we transpose up and down the neck.
This approach is great because instead of trying to learn a lot of chords, you will be focusing on just two shapes.
Here’s the chord shape.
The E major Chords
You can use these two shape to create a beautiful melody in E major.
The chords you will be able to play using this chord shape are: E major, F#minor, G#minor. A major. B major, C#minor and D#minor (if you play the triad this chord will be a diminished chord but in this example we only play the root note and minor 3rd so it’s Ok to call this chord minor).
The next step will be to learn the E major scale on the 4th string and then play the relative shape on each degree of the chord.
Change set of Strings
You can also use this chord shape on a different set of string and still have the same major and minor chord.
